Uh... well... it's somewhat like a regular condom, but the end has a rubber tube about an inch long and about 1/4 diameter which you force over the plastic fitting on the inboard end of the discharge hose. The rubber tube stretches to fit snugly over this plastic fitting forming a water-tight seal. The other end unrolls just like a regular condom except that it's rather sticky on the inside... kinda slightly less sticky than a band-aid. Once the catheter is unrolled, about 1.5 inch of taught, sticky rubber is on the inside in direct contact with the skin making it very hard to pull off or leak. To remove it, you roll it back the way it was. This takes a little work because, by this time, it's been on for a few hours and the glue has 'settled in'. You just keep peeling/rolling until it's off again. If you're inexperienced (or unlucky) you can get a hair or two caught between the rubber and the skin thus making for a somewhat painful egress. So you can see that while guys do seem to have it easier than girls in this case, it's still not a cakewalk. :-) -Mike Rodriguez <mikey@ma*.co*> Pn(x) = (1/(2^n)n!)[d/dx]^n(x^2 - 1)^n -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
