Scott,

Quattro's are just as bad, and we aren't mentioning about the buckles either
:-)

No, I am probably not being fair. Its much easier yet to kick with *no*
fins at all, so......
If I had to swim 30 miles in a straight line, I would drive.

Walter, this is the tech list, for scuba divers. I addressed the question
from the perspective of diving, not long distance surface swimming. FWIW,
the young lady who won a Halcyon BC this past year at the SCUBA fest, in the
long distance swim race, was wearing *no* fins. I have tried Force Fins, and
they only thing they are good for, IMHO, is dock work. No, really, you can
walk along the dock, and hop in and out, while wearing them, and they give
some propulsion.

I use my fins for acceleration, brakes, side thrusters, maneuvering, and
feelers.
I dive a set of Quattro's.

I am going to try a set of the fins DV is always talking about, the long
dogs.

I stand on my original statement: Split fins are a bad joke, not funny.

Where is Shannafelt when you need him???

Scott
