Al,

The VR3 is definitely not vapourware, although the fact that OMS are
marketing it is news to me (I thought it was Kevin Gurr's baby, so maybe not
too much of a surprise). I have seen 2 in use at the end of last year. Seems
to have pretty good functionality but a tad expensive at 995 pounds sterling
for the Trimix version (incidentally, you need to prove certification before
you can buy the Trimix version). The casing appears to be cast from a single
billet, and both guys were considering replacing the tacky "luggage strap"
style wrist-straps with something more comfortable/safe (Suunto solution
straps fit, and at about 5 pounds sterling don't break the bank). The unit
comes complete with Proplanner and is apparently entirely upgradeable. It
appears on the web at:

Regards,

JT
