Apply the DIR principles of 'less is more' and 'think it through' to what they say. As for your specific questions: Nik 5's often jam deeper than 180 fsw. The rear door and 'preasure plate' sandwitch the film to the camera chasis so it will not advance. If you pull too hard it scratches or rips. I use a Stromm housing. Cheap, deep, and simple (DIR?). The basic model has just one control, the shutter. Its magnetic so there is no hole in the housing requiring a gland (there is a Nik 5 speedlight connector which is o ringed.) The shutter release operates the same as it does on land, depressed half way it focuses and locks AF, pushed all the way it shoots. You can then move your subject off center. And there is less of a learning curve.
