Another good reason to turn the tank on to check the pressure and regulator
before entering the water, then turn it back off leaving the hoses full.
Then, this would have been discovered on the boat instead of during
decompression.

uh, why not pull a reg off your back gas and put it on 
the deco bottle?

Not thinking it all the way through is what kills.
