This is a key point - they must be parked on the bottle and the bottle tuened off when not in use -this is part of the gas identification scheme, and you never want any extraneous hoses arond your neck. If you have to share gas while on the stage, you donate the stage reg from your mouth and then work on the long hose after going to your backup.
