Yes, Art, when you squeeze the muscles, the gas come flying out as bubbles into the venous side. An overlaod at this point could blow by or cause enough of a pressure change to open a PFO. I treat myself as if I have one at this point in the dive, and have asked all of our divers to do the same. You should hear the Doppler when you exert just after a dive - it is really scarry.
