In keeping with his new image :-), and also in keeping with his new desire to expand and dive with other diver's, I have just confirmed with George Irvine that he will be in SoCal the weekend after DEMA. He will be available on Saturday night 1/22 for a Q & A session and then we will dive on Sunday 1/23. The gameplan is to have the Q & A on the Great Escape www.diveboat.com on Sat. evening. There will be no charge for this demo and session. For those who want to dive with us on Sunday, the boat will leave San Pedro at 6:00 am, but everyone is invited to sleep on the boat. Depending on conditions we will dive Farnsworth Bank as the 1st sight, if conditions are right we may stay there for 2 dives. we should get in 4 dives that day, again depending on available BT and conditions. For those unfamiliar with Farnsworth bank it is considered an advanced dive site. It's a pinnacle that sits on the backside of Catalina Isalnd. It starts at 66' and goes down into the abyss. Many of us will be diving trimix, but there will be plenty of recreational diver's on the trip. So if you are in the SoCal area and want to take George up on his offer to demonstrate first hand DIR techniques you are invited. If you are coming in from out of town, ( ie DEMA, or any where else ) I have spoken with Tim, the Capt., and he has confirmed that all are allowed to sleep on the boat Sat & Sun night at no charge, therefore no need to rent a hotel room. Furthermore, my friend Ken Kurtis of Reef Seeker's, has the boat chartered for that Saturday ( 1/22) so if you want to make a weekend out of it, it makes alot of sense. His trip will be leaving Fri. evening and we will be diving Santa Barbara Island. As of right now the following NG regulars are on the trip: Jammer OTDB ( Barbara ) John Walker Scott Jason O'Rourke Miranda Tleemay stb@pr*.ne* ( Troy ) Mathew Endo Let me know if you are interested. Since many of you already know that I was a bigtime DIR *antagonist* ( as Volker call's me :-) ) until I actually dove with Dan & George. It is much simpler to understand when it is explained by Dan and George. You learn more in one day of diving than you can in 100 internet posts. Contact me if you are interested to join us.
