Hello, my name is Louis and I=B4m pretty new to this list. To introduce myself briefly: Diving since my childhood,certified through CMAS*** Later on Instructor with PADI;IANTD&TDI. When the term technical diving was launched by M2 and the deep,dark=20 things(the fruits PADI&Skin diver Magazin prohibitted us to enjoy) came out=20 of the closet again a lot of "adult"divers embraced this new/old way of=20 diving enthusiastic. It was defenetivly a real chance to find an escape from those restrictive=20 rules given by a sportdiving industry,striving to get everybody who was at=20 least able to nod his/her head into diving. But now, only a few years later, I=B4m taken aback seeing a brand new agency= -=20 gue or so, dictating rules#1,#2 and so on, calling this "doing it right" and= =20 offending everybody who isn=B4t instantaniously sticking to that way- a stro= ke=20 or worse. Particulary the "older",more experienced divers, who found their way to setu= p=20 their equipment long before the advent of GUEDIRHALCYONETCPP are more=20 reluctant to throw everything what has proven to be sensibel, over board, than the brand=20 new hotjets in diving/tecdiving, following their Gurus like the japanese touris= t=20 the yellow umbrella of his/her touroperator. And especially those young hotjets, who are offending a lot of experienced=20 leaders in the dive industry, hoping their gurus will like the way they=20 behave. For me it makes even a difference wether it is George Irvine who has=20 something to say,or it is a brandnew pisser, recently cave&tek level1=20 certified and the pricetag still on his halcyon bladder. Ther are many aspects of the DIR I like very much-but not everything !and no= t=20 the shut up&listen to the rules attitude. Thing I like: shallow ENDs,banning deep air, banning 80/20, long hose, reduc= e single bladder and simple put the hogarthian way (But is DIR-Hogarthian?) And how about this Carmichel company Halcyon?Why do they want us, after=20 convincing -thanks god-not to butt mount the light canister-to buttmount a=20 rubberboat instead???
