Michael, With your M.D. credentials no doubt you are aware that "prolonged and frequent exposure" to alcohol allows some individuals to be acclimatized to intoxication. I believe the term is functional alcoholic. I don't ever recall that anyone ever claimed that if one got drunk often enough and bad enough they could learn to opperate a motor vehicle or other heavy equipment in an intoxicated state.
