Thanks for the post Bill. Agree with much of what you say, especially the need for DAN to discourage the type of deep diving mentioned in this incident. You mentioned Lake Wazee, which is located in Black River Falls, WI, and has been a popular midwest training (and killing) site for technical divers because of its depth (over 300 ft). I can tell you that Jackson County has considered closing the place, but that isn't likely to happen anytime soon. Living where I do, not far from Lake Wazee, I do hear about some of the close calls, and the horror stories are pretty incredible. Divers will continue to take risks (don't we all), and there will no doubt be future accidents at Lake Wazee, 40 Fathom Grotto, and other popular deep diving/training sites. I think it is great that most of the people on this list are making a clear statement against deep diving on air, and just maybe DAN and the training agencies will someday do the same. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
