The guys in florida use lp104's, 400g thinsulate, cannister light and no weight. Here (WA State) in our water (about the same temp as yours) the same will work for short dives under an hour. Longer dives require another layer and a v-weight. Pretty simple. Really long dives just require steel ones and are miserable. Any uncomfortable feeling will go away after practice. Most people have a hell of a time with trim for a while when going to no weight.
