-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Gang, and especially everyone in the Pacific North West: I have been working, for the last couple days, on a compressor that was allegedly "rebuilt" by Keith Syphers maker of the quick attaching pneumatic yoke fillers (leaky piece of shit as well). Keith Syphers 3880 Centerview Road Lummi Island WA 98262 360-758-2224 syphers@ho*.co* Unfortunately for Keith, I have several *years* of experience rebuilding HP compressors for the oil industry. The compressor he sold to Ron Ault at Hood Sport N' Dive was *not* rebuilt, and, in fact, the cylinders are well out of tolerance, with Keith's lame ass hone marks visible in the finish. Remember, this was supposed to be a rebuilt compressor, and the pistons are *out* of tolerance. Micrometers don't lie, Syphers does. This worn out compressor is *not* in service at Hood Sport N' Dive. The system there is top notch, and has nothing to do with Syphers. Ron bought the compressor that was being used at the Sunrise, and has been throwing money at Syphers ever since. The 1st time Syphers showed up for work (to repair the compressor he said was newly rebuilt) he was *shitfaced* drunk, another of his trademarks. He "repaired" the compressor, and left, charging $800.00. The compressor ran for about 3 hours, then died again. He came back, drunk, three weeks later, and, after charging another $500.00, pronounced the compressor suitable for duty. It lasted 6 hours. Oh, and yes, he is driving all this time, shitfaced. So, not only is he a thief and a liar, but a punk as well. I got into it the compressor this weekend, and it is a pile of shit. A Syphers rebuild consists of a paint job, silicon, and a few o-rings and gaskets. All the internals are worn out, as it is his MO is to *hone* the cylinders (thereby increasing clearance and blowby) and slap new rings on it the worn pistons. The end result is increased crankcase pressure, which forced excess oil into the system (and your breathing gas), "coking" the valves between stages. This "newly rebuilt" compressor has not run for more than 5 hours since it was "rebuilt." Quality workmanship, pride, integrity and honor are words unknown to Syphers. REMEMBER, THIS GUY WORKS ON STUFF TO PUMP BREATHING AIR!!!!!!! Ask Andrew at 5th Dimension about the Haskell booster and accumulators he purchased form Syphers. One of the accumulators exploded. Turns out they were condemned military surplus. The booster lasted a few hours as well. Talk to the folks at Capital Divers in Olympia. He ripped Ron Ault, of Hood Sport N Dive, off to the tune of several thousand dollars, and Ron *still* doesn't have a working compressor. I understand that someone in Hawaii is suing Syphers for just this type of action. If anyone knows who it is, please forward this message to them, along with my e-mail address, as I think I have information that will help their case. This is a very well established pattern by Syphers, and I am going to do everything I can to see the truth about him get out as far and as fast as possible. Mr. Syphers is a shameless thief and a liar, and he has fucked over *every single person* I have talked to about him and his work. And I hope to help anyone else thinking of making *any* purchase form this "person" to think long and hard, and get a "guarantee" in writing. Syphers knows most people cant afford a lawyer to sue him, so he has no reason to do straight business. Better yet, don't give the lying bastard a dime. *Nothing* Syphers has or sells is a bargain, in fact, its usually hideously overpriced. Shop around, and be very careful if you purchase anything from this clown. The same compressors Syphers is selling for 8 to $12,000.00 "rebuilt" can be had from IR, with a two year factory warranty, for about $5,000.
