Anyone know why HID lights are so damned expensive? I mean, a replacement HID bulb for a car headlight is about $30 bucks. $600 to upgrade an EE light? $3600 for dual HID lights from Light & Motion video housings? You gotta be kidding me! I could buy a mill and learn to make them cheaper in total myself, I would think. Is this just a case of creaming the market or is there something else I'm missing. Also, I want to start doing digital video underwater. Any recommendations for cameras and housings, capable of technical depths? Is there a underwater video mailing list? Thanks.
