This past weekend WKPP divers executed several small scale dives to assess the conditions within the cave and capture video in the clear tunnels. In addition, the Japanese film team was hard at work in the basin and onshore despite the "green" water. Saturday: Support crews loaded up the basin for the 4-man video team and basin team. Nanci Levake, Mark McCarty, David Sweetin, and Cameron Martz assisted both the dive teams and film teams throughout the afternoon. David Lennon and Herve Deschamps handled deep support and started replacing the basin line down to the 190 drop. John Rose and Chris Werner demonstrated water sampling technique for the film team. Skip MacElhannon handled surface manager responsibilities and learned a little Japanese in the process. Mike Wisenbaker was also hard at work shooting stills. OC Team 1 of Jablonski, Irvine, Miller, and McKinlay captured 20 minutes of video in C & B-Tunnels using new HID video lights. The Rat was back in action after a long break and shot some great footage (as usual). Bottom time was approximately 20 minutes at 295. Flow in the main conduit is still strong with visibility averaging 20ft. Sunday: WKPP divers assisted the film crew in the Wakulla basin on Sunday and were on the road by midday. Overall, a very low-key weekend as we wait for conditions to improve for setup runs out A-Tunnel. This coming weekend will be more video work and we look forward to seeing everyone there.
