Subject: Re: DIR reg rigging
Cam, the second pressure gauge is completely unnecessary since, if you
lose the left post or have to isolate, the dive is called anyway.
Knowing the pressure at this point serves no purpose as it would not
change your actions. If you are managing gas properly and diving with
buddies who have comparable gas consumption rates to yours, just look
at a buddy's gauge. Also, you should be able to estimate your gas just
by knowing your breathing rate and the runtime.

The drysuit inflator (if you are not using argon) comes off the left
post and straight down, under the harness strap to the inflator.
Hearing gas moving through the hose, as you would if it crossed around
to the right side, is not so much of an issue with the suit inflator as
it is with regs, since if it is leaking you will notice because your
buoyancy increases. Doing it this way there is only one hose crossing
behind your head from the left post, so if you ever need to reach
behind to recover your backup reg, you will not confuse the hoses.
