I am glad to see this published. I have felt that most of the "unexplained" CNS hits were the result of right to left shunts such as a PFO. There are other types of right to left shunts. One is a ventricular septal defect. Basically, any defect that allows blood to get from the right side of the heart to left, without going through the filter of the lungs, should predispose a diver to this problem.
