No, but you can probably guess it's one of the usual suspects. Isn't that IANTD country down there? George, now I would like to hear from the deep air folks out there. I suppose they will say that the reason for this accident is that there were insufficient "workup" dives for the late trainee? Also this business about the 2, count 'em, 2 instroketers both getting tangled up in the up line at the same time while the now-dead student "wandered off". This story has more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. As I understand it the only diving allowed at Hal Watts is training dives, so for a couple of deep air addicts to get a good narcosis buzz going they have to bring along a student. I suspect that the real story is more along the lines of the 2 instrokters were so into enjoying the narcosis buzz (which was the goal of the dive in the first place) they forgot they even had a "student" along until they sobered up at 140 or so. They then sucked down all their back gas from frantically concocting an alibi on their diving slates so their story would square when the questions started flying on the surface.
