George-

Do you suffer from paranoid delusions? Why do you have to make everything so
damn personal?

This has *nothing* to do with you. We're merely remarking on a method (purge
valve resuscitation) which on all counts is dangerous and shouldn't be
practiced by anyone, skill level or legal liabilities notwithstanding.

You might be a brilliant diver (and I think you are), but you're not a
paramedic. Several paramedics have gotten up and said that this method is
unsafe and stands a high risk of killing someone even more than they already
are. At the very least, try to do no harm so that there's a little bit left
for the ambulance crews to try to recover.

I think it's a mark of intelligence to be able to admit the domains where
one's knowledge is insufficient. I came onto tech-diver to learn more about
tech diving. But I have studied paramedicine extensively and none of your
"arguments" regarding your method have proven very logical.

If DIR is about truly doing things right and if there is a logical reason
behind each DIR decision, then it should be possible to explain why the
purge method is superior or even desirable. None have been presented and
instead several people have given logical reasons as to why it's clearly
very hazardous and shouldn't be used.

I'll gladly listen to any of your comments regarding diving technique and
appreciate your contributions to the list in that regard; but you're not a
paramedic and I believe someone has said you haven't even taken a rescue
course (which seems illogical; although it would be the only way for you to
escape liability from using the purge-valve method).
