Hey there -- Ms. Judy Hughes is the editor of the National
Asssociation for Cave Diving Journal and has e-mail{ capability.{ She
can fire off to you a list of cave diving instructors who are
members/certified to teach by the NACD. There are 2 residents of
California who instruct, one in Mission Viejo, another in Pescadero.
It is highly doubt{ful that any certified cave diver would ever take
another diver who is not trained and equipped to do so into any cave
or other overhead environment. The reasons are not so obvious at
first but become extremely clear once you have begun training.
NACD is a non-profit education and safety organization.
NACD can also mail you some info about the group, periodicals and
books, etc.
And there are some TERRIFIC videos on the market which will show you
what it is all about.{
