May I suggest that tech diving and many tech divers have a certain affinity for/connection to things military, moreso than, say, Diwali (or Kwanza or Christmas) celebrators in general. Perhaps any 'deeply offended global groups' taking exception to the USMC's birthday could consider the wide choice in bandwidth opportunities (libyantechdivers@....? islamicextremistsuicidecarbombertechdivers@...?) where they may share their own ideas and innovations unsullied by the inferior offerings of Yanqui dogs. Sorry about the waste of bandwidth, but it's just a drop in the bucket at this point, and I have had too much caffiene today.
