Subject: Re: Icy water diving
I must disagree with this. The hip position of the SPG places the
gauge in a position that is easily read by your buddies, and minimizes
movement of the HP stem and vibration at the swage, as your body moves.
As well, this avoids confusing hoses when you go do disconnect your LP
inflator in an emergency, and avoids damage to the gauge from stage
bottles which should be tight to the chest ring. Solutions: 1 - use
the correct length HP hose. Mine is just long enough to place the
gauge in my field of vision when I look down. 2 - use the o-ring weak
link to attach the bolt snap. This should enable you to grab the gauge
to read it (the o-ring will slide up the hose), and then pull the bolt
snap down to re-stow.
