High po2 deco gas is as dangerous as a loaded gun , or venomous snake , one mistake and you are done .... carrying it shut off , and slung as a stage bottle , properly marked , then methodicaly reading the marking before turning it on and switching regulators is much safer then counting on recognising the style and type of second stage you are about to breath from or having a bag , poodle jacket , surgical tubing coloured hose, which side etc . I don't care if the salt water is hard on the inside of the regulator when / if it seeps up into it . too bad ...get it rebuilt 4 times a year if you dive a lot . I have no proof but a strong suspision that harvey lenord ( aqua crazy harvey) died as a result of accidently breathing his back mounted deco gas instead of his main tank and toxing . -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
