Sounds like a weak lawsuit.  I think George is a "public figure".  Read:
Gertz v. Robert Welch, Inc., 418 U.S. 323 (1974), ie, someone who has
voluntarily injected himself or is drawn into a particular public
controversy and thereby becomes a "public figure".
