What you want is called a "pin spanner" - a hook spanner is pretty much the same but has a square tab instead of a round one which messes up the hole if you use it too enthusiastically on a reg. You can get them from most industrial supply houses (Macmaster Carr, MSC etc) or tool suppliers (Mac, Snap-On). Or make one. Often will be found listed under "Spanner, pin" or "Wrench, spanner" so it may take some looking. BTW, you will also want to have a "bullet" tool to get the knife edge piston back in without damaging the HP O-ring. Have to go to a diver shop supplier for this one, or make it from a bit of 1/4" wood dowel. Reason I know this, is Airspeed Press (www.conknet.com/~g_packard/oxyhacker.html) has a regulator servicing book coming out very soon that covers all this, and I've been workingo on some of the art for it for them. >where can i get the tool that's used to assemble/disassemble the 1st stage >main spring housing of an oceanic balanced piston reg? some repair techs >call it a "hook wrench". it hooks into one of the ambient pressure ports >of the 1st stage for loosening up or tightening the assembly. > >thanks in advance, > >m.g. ebro >-- >Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. >Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
