2 buddies are doing a dive. When doing deco do both buddies have to leave
the stops at the exact same time?

I've heard some different theories; "Once a buddy team always a buddy
team", or "You are responsible for your own deco."

So once my timer says it's time for me to leave for the next stop do I wait
for my buddy and let him control my stops or signal him that my timer says
"Go" and then go or what? 

How do others handle this?
