Wrolf, that is one specific case of low vis diving, if you want to call
it that.  I was referring more generally to blackwater diving
operations involving tender directed searches, which are often in swift
water and may be at night, and may not be directed from shore, in the
case of a harbour or similar search.  The light is for signalling in
the unlikely event that the diver is disconnected from the tether, or
if he should surface in trouble.
