But were I to find myself 18,000' back there, yeah, I'd want 2 backups :-) For my weenie open water stuff I carry two lights under the arms. One is a regular light for poking in holes, etc. The other is a little combination strobe/light (strobe at one end, regular bulb at the other). I've found the strobe useful to help my buddy find me in a major silt out, and also clipped to my lift bag to help the boat find it when doing an ascent at night or low surface viz.
