For non-penetration wreck diving, sure. A strobe for marking the ascent line. Clip it to the line high enough to be seen from anywhere within the range of visibility around it. It serves at least two purposes. In low-ish vis, it extends the distance from which you can see the ascent line (sometimes even double).
