For non-penetration wreck diving, sure. A strobe for marking the ascent
line. Clip it to the line high enough to be seen from anywhere within the
range of visibility around it. It serves at least two purposes. In low-ish
vis, it extends the distance from which you can see the ascent line
(sometimes even double). If for some reason you and your teammate become
separated (shouldn't happen, but ...), the first diver to the ascent line
takes it with him so it also serves as an indicator that he/she has gone
up (or you both can hang one, so there's always at least one light on the
line).
