Today I re-read from techdiver's WWW archive some of my old messages. I noticed that, in those messages, particular important words had been censored out. I suspect that somewhere between (a) automatically removing excess bulk of quoted lines as distinguished by initial right angle bracket, and (b) some funny misbehavior related to the special way that HTML code treats angle brackets, any word that I put in angle brackets to emphasize it was deleted. As well as in using angle brackets as emphasis, such behavior by archivers threatens trouble in handling messages that include the "greater" or "less" symbols in equations describing decompression or the like, or if someone wants to include a fragment of C program code describing some aspect of diving. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
