Subject: The index; a space story

The result of sending "h e l p" to the server gets this:-
>    index	send index of articles in techdiver archive

  (1) Why didn't it say that the complete index is so enormous (2,974,817 
bytes)!! It gave my emailer indigestion.
  (2) In the software that handles that index, please remove the trailing 
spaces from each line of the index. By removing the trailing spaces from my 
copy, I got it down to 2,447,125 bytes: that's half a megabyte shorter!!!
