I have recently finished reading Gary Gentiles Lusitania books one and two.In some of the chapters he tells the history of some of the Doria deaths and a certain confrontation that he , Billy Deans , and John Moyer had with Janet Bieser .I will not repeat it on this list , but I found the exchange of words disturbing.Someone tell me it didn't happen! In the book it also tells how on his first trip to the Doria , Billy Deans had to leave his dive buddy who was tangled in cables to seek help and the diver ( John Ormsby )did not live.As I have seen those on this list pull Billy Deans name out of there pocket like a gun , and also turn around and say the Andea Doria is an easy dive and boast about Deans safety record as a dive boat operator, I bet if you would have ask Billy that day what he thought of the AD , his answer may have been, " Its the most dangerous dive I ever done".There is nothing Billy Deans could have done to save him , but the horror of it will last all his life I'm sure , The wreck is paging number 13 for the summer of 2000.Bottom line is you can't always blame the buddy or the Capt. and crew. The minute you put your head underwater , it has become unsafe.
