Hi Yes Ni-Cads have a memory effect. Theoretically, if you top up the = capacity of the battery is only the amount that you topped up. Say your = battery was 75% charged and you topped up. The capacity of the battery = now is only 25% of the original. This is not recoverable but multiple = discharge/ recharge cycles help. (In reality its not that bad) Another point is not to completely discharge otherwise there is a chance = the polarity becomes reversed on the recharge, this destroys the = battery. If you want to know how much charge is left in your battery-guess. You = can only estimate by recording the usage. I hope this helps.
