I read in a recent post that NI-CAD batteries in dive lights need to be completely drained before charging, otherwise the battery wont last as long on each charge in the future. Is there anything else to think about regarding NI-CAD battery maintenance? Should you discharge and then recharge the battery occasionally between using the light to ensure longer battery life? Is it a good idea to leave the battery plugged in to the charger to "top upp" the battery now and then, like with lead-acid batteries? Answers much appreciated.
