Dear list/s

I have just sold my Commder Nitrox to a friend and he tells me that since he
has changed the batteries, he has not been able to lock in any new gas mixes. 

The unit keeps defaulting to surface mode. Has anyone had a similar problem to
this before and if so what did you do to fix it short of sending it back to the
manufacturer?
