Tod, Choosing convoluted gear to make up for poor technique and lack of ability is never the solution. Much of the gear you recommend seems to fit in this catagory. Instead of saying "there is no one correct way," maybe what you mean to say is that there is no one correct way for incompetant sub-par performers who are not willing to put in the time to be the very best they can be. The guys that dive with the WKPP are talented enough that they could dive with whatever convoluted bullshit exists, but they dive with what is optimal, optimal being the result of many years of diving at this level. And yes, it is evolving. No, George is not God, but when it comes to dive equipment recommendations and techniques, I have yet to find fault with anything he recommends. I rarely follow him blindly, and in fact argue with him frequently and loudly. This is a waste of time, as I have yet to prove him wrong. His approach may be different than mine, but for some who can't seem to get the message, continual hammering may just be the best approch. I think most of George's venom is a result of frustration at the failure of many to comprehend even the most basic concepts, let alone the whole picture. As for the rest of the WKPP, they are just a bunch of hard working, dedicated men and women who want to be the best they can be and are sick and tired of others tying to ruin things by being so stupid.
