You don't want anything more complex than the basic reel. > * H-valve or Y-valve; which is better for redundancy on a single tank? I have a Beuchat 200 bar DIN Y valve that I love - it has standard handwheels on it, one on each side. Easy to reach and operate. I find operating an H valve a bit harder. Stay away from the crappy yoke style Y valves that have those tiny knobs on top of the Y. > * drysuit underwear; I have custom tailored Andys, both the 100 and 200 weight. I use the 200 in the 40F-60F range (never tried anything colder), and its okay at the cold end for short (less than 1 hour) dives, with argon. With air inflation I can stay much longer above 50F. In 60F+, I switch to the 100, which becomes way too warm at about 75F. I have heard about a new undergarment material that is supposed to be warmer yet thinner than the common Thinsulate and Polartec suits, but I don't know much about it. I'm told that Andrew at Fifth Dimension (near Seattle) sells these, but my email inquiries to him over the summer have gone unanswered. There's an outfit in the UK promoting an undergarment that may be the same thing, see http://www.weezle.demon.co.uk/wds/ -- Art Greenberg artg@ec*.ne* -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
