Tod, I must disagree. 1) Finding stuff is not easy, admittedly, but it is there. Frequently the title of a post (ie, "Another death") is not very descriptive of what is being discussed, you need to poke around. Hell, look at the subject of THIS thread.... 2) >>, no objective industry tests, > etc. Simply put, no concrete evidence that anyone on this list would normally > expect of any other product on the market that they are being told is a > liability to safety.<< Of course there are no objective industry tests. There is no such animal - any industry is, by definition, biased towards its own products. It took Ralph Nader to say "Unsafe At Any Speed", Ford sure as hell couldn't do it themselves. No market pressure to do so. As for concrete evidence, well, has anyone supplied concrete evidence that sticking a screwdriver into a hot junction box is dangerous? No - they arrived at such conclusions using the same type of 'observations' you deride as unsound logic. Will you go, right now, and stick that screwdriver in the socket without killing the power, first? Why not ? I haven't provided you with objective studies saying it's unsafe.... >>, and when this evidence is not forthcoming (especially coming from a > direct competitor of OMS) demand that some of the insanity stop until the proof > actually IS more forthcoming. Diving should involve some modicum of > integrity.<< It's integrity that's causing alot of these people to speak out in the first place. And who are the loudest? - the WKPP. Pray, tell, how are they an OMS competitor? What does the WKPP sell, besides videos ? Rich L -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
