Subject: Re: Jet fins with DUI drysuit
Nick,

I can sympathize as I have had similar problems. I have size 9.5 EEEEE feet
< yes
they are short and wide, like other parts of my anatomy> I started using mares
quatro
fins in a wet suit eventually I moved into a dry suit, usia trilam with gates
type
boots and needed a larger fin. I went to the turtle fin, which is a jet fin
clone
made in mexico and sold by Global industries, you can get them mail order from
lloyd
baileys 352 332 0738 or online. The foot pocket is huge, but for me they dont
work
with the dui because my feet are too short length wise and the dui boot flops
inward
on me, and the fin straps slide off my heel.

These fins were great with the stiff gates boot and spring straps. This year I
got a
custom tls, and the turtle fins were too loose on my feet with the size large
molded sole boot of the dui. I have been told that my foot is too big for the
medium
size dui boot, but i am considering it. My foot is too wide for the xl jetfin
as it
stands now, wet or dry. I am also contemplating remelting the foot pocket of the
xl's with a heat gun, a trick I picked up from the freedive list. Another
suggestion
was, coat the quattros blade with a resin, making them stiff like freedivefins
BTW if you want a long fin for a big foot, get Picasso/simitol fins. The 44-46
fit
me great in neo socks with a wet suit.

As far as power, the stiffer the fin the better, these quattros are like noodles
compared to the jet fin design, they suck but at least they stay on my feet
when i
crank down the straps. I cant wait to figure this out, and any other realistic
viewpoints are welcome.
