This is from memory, so... Heliox has generally lower decompression times
for dives under ~30 meters and for long dives (more than ~2 hours) over ~30
meters. For dives under ~2 hours and over ~30 meters, trimix has lower deco
times. This is probably the majority of mixed gas dives.

I don't know, but I don't see why keeping the ppO2 constant would make any
difference. It will make the pp of both the nitrogen and the helium variable
but the blend at any given stage will still be either Heliox or Trimix.
