> How do deco times work out using open circuit trimix or heliox (never mind > the cost...) for a comparable dive ? This is from memory, so... Heliox has generally lower decompression times for dives under ~30 meters and for long dives (more than ~2 hours) over ~30 meters. For dives under ~2 hours and over ~30 meters, trimix has lower deco times. This is probably the majority of mixed gas dives. > If trimix does work out shorter deco times, would the same conclusions be > true for a constant ppO2 closed-circuit dive ? I don't know, but I don't see why keeping the ppO2 constant would make any difference. It will make the pp of both the nitrogen and the helium variable but the blend at any given stage will still be either Heliox or Trimix. Devon
