Do you mean offensive? Wasn't trying to be offensive. Hank is a good
friend, I was making a comment in good humor, and I don't *think* he took
it wrong, or if he did, he hasn't said anything about it yet. (The <g> is
used to indicate humor in case the intent is unclear.)

You're right, holding on to a line is indeed exercise. <g> (See, I'm making
a feeble attempt at a funny here.) According to my extremely limited
understanding, lack of sufficient exercise can also be a contributing
factor: if you remain completely motionless during deco, circulation may
not be optimal in all your limbs, so it is a good idea to move about a
little and do some stretching.

One cannot always predict what the surface conditions will be like at the
end of one's dive (at least not up here) unless one limits onesself to 5
minute bottom times. And occasionally a big freak wave will roll through on
an otherwise calm day.

If there is no current when you're hanging, and your jon line is very long
it is hard to stay in one place. With an ultra-long jon line, what do you
do in those conditions? (This is why I use a fairly short line -- about 4
feet, not including the loops at the end.)

Maggie;
