Besides the issue of cost, is weight, mostly battery. Why drag a heavy although very good scooter over the side of a boat when it's really not needed. For the duration of the typical NE dive the Apollo/ dacor scoters are clearly the best choice for this type of diving. Between a bullet proof clutch and a depth rating Thats been openly stated at well over 200 ft there really is no other sensible option for this type of diving. We have been renting Apollo's for over a year, we have had scooters on most of the "tech" wrecks this season, they are rented mostly for digging and have a very hard life and has yet the only problem we had (one) was due to operator error. I really think this is an issue of the right tool for the job. I wouldn't even consider loading any of our larger scooter (including our short body Gavin) on the typical NE dive boat. Of course the obvious answer is buy both you and your buddy a scooter (Apollo) pay for a days boat dive, lunch and still have change left compared to buying a Gavin. If you ever get in South east Pa we'll rent you one for 25.00 a day with two batteries. Bill -----Original Message----- From: Jim Cobb <cobber@ci*.co*> To: Errol Kalayci <errol@ga*.ne*>; Maria D.
