In germany it has partialy superseeded the national standard DIN 477. I guess you are refering to a DIN 477-9 (R 3/4") thread. Here in germany it is the official thread to be used for medical or industrial oxygen (like your CGA 540). In fact there are some "technical rules" that have the character of a law which force you to use this kind of thread for any gas mixtures with more than 21% oxygen. Therefore some manufacturers offer their nitrox/oxygen compatible regulators with this thread. Have a look at the attached picture. If it's this kind of thread ask me what you want to know -- I could provide some informations (sorry don't have the manaual at the desk). If it's not there is the low probability that it could be the "Scubapro" valve (M24x2). Scubapro and some other vendor are selling their nitrox regulators with this kind of valve. I think this connection has it's roots in the military bussiness -- if I recall right Draeger had once pushed this valve). There where some rumours that this valve could be the next european standard valve for nitrox, but this could (hopefully) be wrong. Regards, Frank P.S.
