Scubapro just came out with a new scooter. It is called the Sea Glider and
I have had one now since May. It has a 2.5 knt speed..rated to 230fsw (but
I have heard 500 mentioned). The rated burn time is 50 min, but we have
been getting 80-90 min and not taking the batts below 12vdc. They sell
around a $1100-1200, and for all around diving have been great.

I have to say, I have not taken it on a tech dive yet, but it has lived up
to every expectation I have had (we do a lot of single tank wreck dives, and
I've used it a bunch so far). It's not a Gavin, but it doesn't cost $3500
either. Extra batts are 65.00 or so at the local battery store and four
latches switch it out, really easy. I set mine up with a tow rope and one
hand it easy. It's been great so far.

Sean
