I carried my spyderco not sub-surface, but in an around the dive platform in
salt water, on a boat I spent some time on. Rust appeared fairly quickly. If
you do carry it in salt-water, you'll have to rinse it off after each dive,
or be pro-active about keeping a good layer of silicone on it.
