O-rings. Take a larger diameter oring, and pass it through the ring on the bolt snap. Remove the hose from the first stage and pass it through the loops on either side of the ring. Slide the bold snap up the hose until it is near the regulator/pressure guage, and re-attache the hose to the first stage. This gives a firm attachment that can easily be broken in an emergency. For non-breakaway attachment, see (I think) Jeff Bentley's page for how to use caveline for attaching. Someone else will have to provide the link, as it has changed recently, and I don't have it on hand.
