From what I've seen, the TX-100/Flathead doesn't support the correct hose
routing.  When regs are turned to the horizontal position, ideally, the
ports should either be pointing straight down, or like the Mk20's, pointing
inward.  This allows for the backup 2nd stage hose and the bc inflator to
cross over easily, which is how hoses are routed in a Hogarthian
configuration.  The flat head doesn't allow for this, with the ports
pointing outboard when the reg is on it's side. 

And, as you pointed out, the TX50 has the swivel BS.  

The Tech-DS4 (TX50D second & DS-4 first) is the best choice in apeks regs.
