> Bill , I concur. The phenomenon that continues to amaze me is how > successful, inteligent, wealthy people who can afford to buy rebreathers > and go on exotic diving trips will go to the dumbest, most uneducated, > pathetic collection of dive industry mutants like the inhabitants and > "executives" of INATD and TDI to learn diving, like the derivatives trader > They go on to blindly follow the crap they are fed by these idiots. Its a world wide philisophy which says buy the one which has been around the longest, largest, brand name recognition etc in the belief that it MUST be better. This is a killer of new ideas, the smaller business man, capitalism etc. (plus it might be that by the time they have paid for the trip that there isn't much left over or the way you became rich wasn't by paying too much or maybe just plain ignorance). I have picked up some bad habits (and I confess still have some) by having no peers that I could consult in my area. I now know where to find the information I need fortunately not too late but I feel sorry for those who don't quite have sufficient drive to search further.
