I have a personal experience... The fact is that litigation is a real pain,
more importantly when you did nothing wrong to face it! Another fact is
that you have to pay anyway (for your lawer). Fortunately, in my case, I am
covered by my insurance company.

I could not agree more! How many guys are certified but do not know what
they are doing? As well, I know some self-trained people which are much
more knowledgeable than many formally trained people.

That is where I disagree... the problem is that the so called expert that
will be acting in court know nothing about IWR. And they will probably tell
that this is irresponsible and dangereous.

What seems to be important is to have a proof of qualification
(certification) and respect the mainstream standards. Using O2 for
decompression is not a proof of qualification to administer first-aid O2,
for those experts that will destroy you in court. In fact, they will tell
that this (as well) is irresponsible and dangerous!

I am certified as DAN and ACUC O2 administrator and I use O2 for
decompression as well. In a case of an emergency, if I have to help a
stranger, I will do it "by the book". For myself or my wife, I would use
IWR on O2 as first-aid or prevention.
