Wroff, don't confuse the issue. Hugo's point was not about
diving deep with independent doubles, but was about the
great lengths to which he has to go to obtain a manifold.

As far as travelling to remote locations goes, if you are
diving deep, you need helium. If you can get helium into a
location, you can get manifolds in. In fact, if you can get
*yourself* into a location, you can get helium, manifolds
and tank bands in as well.

When you phone or email ahead to ascertain the availability
of helium, ask what hire gear is available too, then you know
what to take with you to make up a safe rig. You might have
to carry a manifold and bands with you. It isn't difficult.

If the location is so remote that you need to get helium
shipped in, then do it. Colleague Grahame Elliot recently
went over to dive the Pearse Resurgence in New Zealand. A
more remote location you could not imagine.

A phone call to BOC secured delivery of 3 Gs of He and 8 Es
of O2 to the nearest town. The gas and the divers' gear was
then helicoptered in to the Resurgence site which has no road
access, only a mountain walking track. That's the way it's
done. Properly or not at all.

Your statement to the effect that "independent doubles...
is the only way to go for most destinations when diving deep"
applies only if you are ignorant, too lazy or too stupid to
do it right, addicted to deep air diving, or are
organisationally incompetent.

Or, as in your case, you are one of the internet's malcontents,
yapping at the heels of the WKPP and pursuing your own perverse
and malignant agenda against DIR.

You pay lip service to the idea of safety, have no experience
of mix diving, and are a source of misinformation and confusion.
The welcome message to the Techdiver list should contain a
warning about you.
